To leave the airport, you can either take a bus, light rail, car (whether it's via taxi, through a ride-hailing or ride-sharing service or black car service), shuttle van or even helicopter. The Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) and Terminals 2 and 3 are connected airside via shuttles, and Tom Bradley and Terminals 4-8 are connected airside via walkways. Many of LAX’s terminal buildings are now connected airside, so you can clear security at one, then walk or shuttle to another. I can recall sitting on a shuttle bus for close to an hour while riding from baggage claim to a rental car facility during a previous visit. If the 10-minute (or less, depending on your terminal) estimate for a ride on the APM to the new rental car facility is accurate, that in and of itself would be a major improvement for the area, which regularly suffers from significant airport congestion. Looking aheadĪt the outset of this project, LA leaders called this a “historic investment in Los Angeles’ emerging business and workforce.” Work on the station facades, internal systems and vertical cores is scheduled to continue this year. The placement of the project’s final pedestrian bridge, connecting the West CTA station to Tom Bradley International Terminal, is scheduled for placement this fall.
